The George Mason Patriots will travel to Draddy Gymnasium to take on the Manhattan Jaspers this Wednesday night in College Basketball action.

The George Mason Patriots dropped to 2-3 (0-0 A-10) on the season after being defeated by the 6th ranked Virginia Cavaliers, 83-66, this past Sunday. Virginia ended the first half on an 11-6 run to take an 8 point lead at halftime and never trailed in the 2nd half. George Mason shot 44.2% from the field and 35.3% (6-17) from beyond the arc in the loss. The Patriots allowed the Cavaliers to shoot 57.1% from the field and 66.7% (6-9) from three-point range. Leading the way for George Mason was Marquise Moore who had 10 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 blocks. On the season, the Patriots have been led by Jaire Grayer (14.4 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 1.0 apg), Shevon Thompson (12.2 ppg, 12.6 rpg, 1.4 bpg), and Marko Gujanicic (9.6 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 2.4 apg). Offensively, George Mason is averaging 63.6 ppg through their first five games while shooting 42.1% from the field. Defensively, the Patriots are allowing teams to shoot 43.4% from the field and have a turnover margin of -5.6.

Manhattan vs. George Mason - 11/25/15 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Manhattan Jaspers dropped to 0-2 (0-0 MACC) on the season after being defeated by the Bucknell Bison, 80-67, this past Saturday. Bucknell went on a 10-0 run late in the first half to take a lead they wouldn’t never give back and also made 31 free-throws in the victory. Manhattan struggled from the field shooting just 34.3% from the field and 32.0% (8-25) from beyond the arc. The Jaspers allowed the Bison to shoot 43.1% from the field and was outrebounded by Bucknell by a 48-33 margin. Leading the way for Manhattan was Shane Richards who had 28 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 5 steals. On the season, the Jaspers have been led by Shane Richards (25.5 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 2.0 apg, 3.0 spg), Rich Williams (12.5 ppg, 7.0 rpg), and Zane Waterman (10.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg). Offensively, Manhattan is shooting 35.8% from the field over their first two games while averaging 7.5 three-pointers per game. Defensively, the Jaspers are allowing their opponents to shoot 50.5% from the field and have a rebound margin of -16.0.

The Patriots are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 non-conference games however, just 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games following a ATS win. The Jaspers are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 Wednesday games however, just 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. the A-10.

George Mason has had an interesting season already as after dropping their first two games to Colgate and Mercer, the Patriots were able to beat Ole Miss and Oklahoma State before dropping their recent matchup against Virginia. Manhattan has made the NCAA tournament in the last two seasons but lost a lot from last year’s squad and have really struggled this year on the defensive side of the ball. Although it seems that we don’t know which George Mason team will show up in this one, Manhattan looks absolutely lost on the both sides of the ball early in the season and there is no way I’m trusting the Jaspers to win this one. Take George Mason to win.
