The Drexel Dragons battle the Alaska-Anchorage Seawolves in the Great Alaska Shootout.
The Drexel Dragons have not looked good and have performed well in forging an 0-4 start. In other words it’s been a mixed bag and it was the former in their tournament opener in an 85-66 loss to UNC-Ashevillle. A 51-38 second half run carried the Bulldogs with a 46.6%-43% shooting edge resulting in five more baskets which was decisive. The Dragons were led by Terrell Allen with 19 points and six assists on 7-10 shooting followed by a 16 point effort from Sammy Mojica who fouled out after 21 minutes while Rashann London chipped in with nine points.

The Alaska-Anchorage Seawolves are a virtual unknown until they host the Great American Shootout. The Division II squad almost pulled a first round upset before falling to Middle Tennessee State 75-72. The Seawolves have generally been a sold scoring and defensive squad but it was their offense that made this competitive. Guard Suki Wiggs was the offensive star of the game with a contest high 35 points while Spencer Svejcar and Dane Mitchell adding 14 and eleven points respectively. Alaska-Anchorage trailed by 15 points in the second half with a three at the buzzer denying them of a chance at overtime.
Their really are no trends to go off of for Alaska-Anchorage as they are Division II and these games are defined as exhibitions for the Seawolves.I think the Seawolves have the scoring to cause problems for Drexel and I’ll back them…
