Many thought the Blazers were capable of pulling the upset but the Fighting Illini allowed just 39% shooting and forced 16 turnovers while connecting at 48% themselves to total eight more field goals. Kendrick Nunn paced the Illinois attack with 18 points and five yanks on 7-15 from the floor while Malcolm Hill, Leron Black and Maverick Morgan added 12 points apiece.
