The North Carolina Tar Heels began the year ranked number one before a loss to Northern Iowa nearly knocked them out of the top ten. The Tar Heels have won consecutive contests following an 80-70 win versus Kansas State as a ten point favorite. UNC trailed by two at the half before a 50-38 second half burst put the Wildcats away. North Carolina simply shot the ball better at 46.8%-40% which equaled four more baskets which turned out to be decisive. Justin Jackson paced a balanced Tar Heels attack with 22 points, five yanks and six assists with Kennedy Meeks tossing in 15 points. Theo Pinson and Brice Johnson combined for 21 points with Johnson snagging ten rebounds.
The under is 8-2-1 in Maryland’s last 11 Tuesday games and Maryland are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 Tuesday games while the under is 12-5-1 in their last 18 road games. North Carolina are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 Tuesday games and the under is 8-2 in the Tar Heels last 10 vs. Big Ten while going 6-2 in their last 8 Tuesday games. The home team is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings and the over is 20-7 in the last 27 meetings. Seems like a lot of points to give the second ranked team if indeed Maryland is #2 quality…
