The Gonzaga Bulldogs look to climb the national rankings with a win at the Washington State Cougars.
The Gonzaga Bulldogs can defend and score which is why they are 4-1 and the top challenger in the West Coast. The Bulldogs bounced back from a one point loss to Texas A&M to squeeze by a tough Connecticut squad 73-70 after squandering a 16 point first half lead. The Zags won this on their shooting with a 45%-42% with a 10-1 advantage from long range making the difference. The Bulldogs received 17 points from Kyle Wiltjer with Eric McClellan tossing in 15 points. Silas Melson and Domantas Sabonis netting 12 points apiece with Sabonis snaring nine rebounds. The Zags ran a seven man rotation with each playing at least 17 minutes.

The Washington State Cougars are picked to finish somewhere near the bottom of the PAC 12 so a 4-0 start to the season has to feel good. The flip side is the schedule hasn’t been overly difficult but WSU has taken care of business with each win coming by double figures. The Cougars jumped to a 21 point lead after 20 minutes in a 77-65 victory versus Texas Southern. Washington State burned the nets at 55% while the Tigers connected at 44% which added up to seven more buckets. Josh Hawkinson led the scoring charge with 20 points on 9-14 from the field with Ike Iroegbu right on his heels with 19 points on 7-9. Charles Callison scored nine points while Renard Suggs and Junior Longrus netting eight points each with Longrus hauling in ten rebounds.
Gonzaga are 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 road games and the over is 19-9 in their last 28 vs. Pacific-12. The over is 14-2 in Washington State’s last 16 vs. West Coast and the under is 6-2 in their last 8 overall while the over is 6-2 in their last 8 non-conference games. The road team is 5-2-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings. I like the Zags who cover if they play a full 40 minutes…
