The IUPU-Fort Wayne Mastodons have been getting scoring and defense when needed which led to a six game winning streak that was surprisingly ended 75-53 by Navy on Sunday. The Cal Poly Mustangs have bounced back from an 0-2 start to the season by ripping off four consecutive victories. The Mustangs have been getting quality performances from both ends of the floor capped off by an 85-55 rout of sub division Antelope Valley on Saturday. CP sank shots at almost 47% with the Pioneers hitting at 37% which was the difference maker with Cal Poly getting 14 more shots and sinking 12 more field goals. Joel Awich and Brian Bennett gave the Mustangs attack 14 points each and a combined 13 rebounds with Luke Meikle adding 13 points and five yanks. Ridge Shipley followed with 12 points and Reese Morgan chipped in with ten points and six boards.
The under is 7-1 in IPFW last 8 Thursday games and is 9-3 in their last 12 road games while the over is 6-2 in IPFW last 8 overall. Cal Poly are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 non-conference games and the over is 9-4 in their last 13 non-conference games. I don’t think the Mastodons are that bad to be giving away all these points…
