The Kent State Golden Flashes will travel to Quicken Loans Arena to take on the Cleveland State Vikings this Saturday afternoon in College Basketball action.

The Kent State Golden Flashes dropped to 3-2 (0-0 MAC East) after being defeated by the Pittsburgh Panthers, 85-76, this past Saturday. Kent State was down by 10-points at halftime and although Kent State battled hard in the 2nd half, they never got closer than within 7-points in the loss. Kent State shot 45.3% from the field and outrebounded Pittsburgh by a 33-26 margin. The Golden Flashes allowed Pittsburgh to shot 56.4% from the field and 62.5% (10-16) from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Kent State was Jimmy Hall who had 21 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. On the season, the Golden Flashes have been led by Jimmy Hall (17.0 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 2.6 apg), Kellon Thomas (12.4 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 2.2 apg), and Xavier Pollard (12.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 2.4 apg). Offensively, Kent State is averaging 76.4 ppg on 43.7% shooting. The Golden Flashes average 5.6 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.41. Cleveland State vs. Kent State - 12/5/15 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Cleveland State Vikings lost their 3rd consecutive game and dropped to 2-5 (0-0 Horizon) on the season after being defeated by the Toledo Rockets, 76-65, this past Wednesday. Cleveland State couldn’t get things going offensively in this one and couldn’t mount a comeback after falling behind 36-23 at halftime. Cleveland State shot 42.6% from the field and 33.3% (6-18) from beyond the arc. The Vikings allowed the Rockets to shoot 47.8% from the field and was outrebounded by Toledo by a 36-26 margin. Leading the way for Cleveland State was Vinny Zollo who had 14 points and 5 rebounds. On the season, the Vikings have been led by Demonte Flannigan (11.4 ppg, 5.9 rpg), Rob Edwards (11.3 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 2.3 spg). Offensively, Cleveland State is averaging 58.7 ppg on 38.7% shooting from the field. The Vikings are shooting just 26.7% from beyond the arc and have an assist/turnover ratio of 0.59. Defensively, Cleveland State is holding their opponents to an average of 67.0 ppg on 48.5% shooting. The Vikings have a rebound margin of -2.1 and average 8.0 spg.

The Golden Flashes are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games however, just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS win. The Vikings are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss however, just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 vs. MAC opponents.

Kent State has had a decent start to their season and showed how they will be a tough team in the MAC this season with their strong effort against Pittsburgh. Cleveland State could be in for a long year as after losing their top two scorers from last year’s team, the Vikings can’t seem to find any offense so far this season. The Golden Flashes have the best player on the court in Jimmy Hall and as they also have a solid frontcourt that should dominate the boards, I don’t see the Golden Flashes having any issue covering this small road spread. Take Kent State to cover.
