The Pepperdine Waves look for a road win at the Cal State Northridge Matadors.
The Pepperdine Waves are hopeful of cracking the top four in the West Coast but they have been competitive albeit inconsistent in building a 3-4 record. The Waves are looking to build on a 69-63 win versus visiting Montana where they made an eight point lead at the break stand up. The Waves didn’t do anything special with 45.6% shooting while the Grizzlies connected at 48% but lost because of a 1-16 effort from distance. Lamond Murray Jr. led the Pepperdine offense with 18 points and five yanks followed by a 16 point, six board effort from Stacy Davis. Jet Rains scored ten while Jeremy Major chipped in with nine points.

The Cal State Northridge Matadors are not supposed to be a factor in the Big West but the season is young still. Having said that the Matadors are struggling out of the gate with a 2-5 record following a 77-45 defeat at UCLA for loss number three in a row. The Bruins led by 17 heading to the locker room but continued to press the issue until the final buzzer. The Bruins sank shots at around 43% which was plenty good enough with the Matadors struggling to find the range at 29% accuracy. Cal State Northridge did not have a double digit scorer with Landon Drew, Michael Warren and Jason Richardson each scoring nine points with Tavrion Dawson adding eight points and seven rebounds.
The under is 8-0 in Pepperdine’s last 8 non-conference games and the Waves are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games overall while going 7-1 ATS in their last 8 vs. Big West. The under is 7-1 in the Matadors last 8 Saturday games. If Pepperdine is improved like many believe I think they have to have this one…
