The Murray State Racers look to slow down the Evansville Purple Aces when they visit Saturday.
The Evansville Purple Aces are hoping to make an impact in the Missouri Valley this season and the possibility is there with a 6-1 start. The Purple Aces are riding the momentum of a three game winning streak after an 86-56 rout of Alcorn State that was over two minutes in with the Braves down 33 after 20 minutes. The Purple Paces were dominant with nearly 69% marksmanship while Alcorn was limited to 32.8% which added up to 14 more field goals. Evansville saw DJ Balentine toss in a game high 26 points and hand out eight assists. Egidijus Mockevicius and Adam Wing scored 12 points each and combined for 17 rebounds while Jaylon Brown chipped in with ten points.

The Murray State Racers are off to a 5-2 start the season against decent competition which is more impressive then their record. The Racers have won three of four after squeezing by Alabama A&M 63-61 where the Bulldogs held a 41%-37.5% shooting advantage which gave the Bulldogs a few more buckets. Murray State pulled this out by turning 20 personals in to a 16-9 advantage at the charity stripe which was decisive. Gee McGhee led the Racers attack with 16 points and six pulls on 6-11 while Wayne Langston added 13 points and 12 rebounds. Bryce Jones scored 12 points and Jeffery Moss chipped in with eight points in a very tame offensive effort.
The over is 10-3 in Evansville’s last 13 versus the Ohio Valley and Murray State are 2-6 in their last 8 Saturday games. Pepperdine is improved and I need to see more of Murray State to form an opinion but it’s tough for me to ignore the points…
