The UNLV Rebels look to continue with their hot start when they go on the road to face the UC Riverside Highlanders.
The UNLV Rebels seem to have more bite then they have had in recent years but it’s early and we’ll see how things pan out. The Rebels saw their four game winning streak end in a 56-50 loss at Wichita State as a seven point underdog. The Rebels trailed by nine after 20 but did give the Shockers a scare. The Shockers were held to 37.5% from the floor but UNLV could not take advantage with just 40% accuracy and 19 turnovers which was a determining factor. Stephen Zimmerman Jr. was the only double digit scorer with eleven points and six boards on 4-6 while Jordan Seagears and Josh Poyser netting nine and eight points.

The UC Riverside Highlanders might be a dark horse in the Big West but only time will tell. The Highlanders saw a two game winning streak end with a 77-76 loss at Loyola Marymount on Sunday. Poor shooting and mistakes did UCR in with 39.7% shooting and 15 giveaways was a bad combination and even a 21-24 performance at the stripe wasn’t enough. Taylor Johns paced the Highlanders attack with a game high 24 points and 17 rebounds while Jaylen Bland and Secean Johnson netted 17 points apiece. Malik Thames chipped in with eleven points with the rest of the team scoring five points.
The over is 8-0 in UNLV last 8 Saturday games and UNLV are 26-9 ATS in their last 35 road games while going 19-7 ATS in their last 26 games overall. UC Riverside are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 home games and the over is 9-2 in their last 11 non-conference games while the under is 8-3 in their last 11 Saturday games. I’m not sure what to think about this but I think this is a game UNLV needs…
