After kicking off the season with three consecutive defeats the Georgetown Hoyas have reeled off five straight wins after holding off a late UNC Wilmington rally in an 87-82 decision on Saturday. The Seahawks connected at 37% from the floor but they forced 16 turnovers which led to 15 more shots to keep the Seahawks from being blown out with the Hoys hitting at 51% and going 10-19 from long range. D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera poured in a game high 27 points with five dishes while Marcus Derrickson scoring 15 points with the pair going 11-18 from the floor. Isaac Copeland chipped in with ten points and snared six boards.
These teams have never met so they have zero history and no trends will doo us any good. Georgetown is better in a much better conference and will win this game. I do see a competitive Monmouth squad and they are tougher then most believe so I’m tempted to take the points here…
