The Line: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets -2 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds

The Virginia Commonwealth Rams shoot for a road win versus the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

The Virginia Commonwealth Rams are looking to string some wins together and get some exposure now that Shaka Smart has jumped ship. The Rams appeared to be on their way with three consecutive victories before the Florida State offense  came to life in a 76-71 defeat. The Seminoles led by eleven at the break and VCU never recovered. FSU held a slight 45%-43% shooting edge and won it with six more foul shots that offset the Rams 10-19 effort from long range. Melvin Johnson was the star of the game with 36 points on 14-24 from the field including an 8-14 mark on threes. Korey Billbury and Mo Alie-Cox combined for 21 points and five pulls each but the Rams needed others to step up.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs. Virginia Commonwealth Rams - 12/15/15 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are supposed to be a non factor in the ACC but they have looked pretty good so far at 6-2 with wins in three of four. The Yellow Jackets are coming off of a 76-68 victory at Tulane with a strong finish breaking open a close game. The Green Wave hit at nearly 45% and GT countered with43.5% accuracy with 16 Tulane giveaways and 13 offensive boards leading to eleven more looks and four more buckets which was decisive. Marcus Georges-Hunt led all scorers with 19 points while Charles Mitchell added 14 points and 14 rebounds. Nick Jacobs and Adam Smith netted 13 points apiece and snagged 14 boards.

VCU are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall and the under is 8-3 in Georgia Tech’s last 11 home games. The Yellow Jackets might be better then expected and I don’t think the Rams will be that bad off without Shaka Smart but the system is still in place so hopefully the Rams in a close one…
