The North Carolina-Wilmington Seahawks shoot for a road win versus the East Carolina Pirates.
The North Carolina-Wilmington Seahawks have been riding their #10 offense to a 5-0 start to the season but this unit fell short in an 87-82 defeat at Georgetown on Saturday where a rally from a ten point deficit at the half fell short. The Hoyas held a hefty 48%-37% shooting edge but the Seahawks forced 16 turnovers to total 15 more looks at the basket to make this closer then it probably should have been. Chris Flemmings gave the Seahawks 19 points on 6-10 with Dylan Sherwood and Marcus Bryan netting 14 points apiece with Bryan hauling in 12 rebounds. Jordan Talley scored eleven points and handed out seven assists Denzel Ingram chipping in with nine points.
USA TODAY Sports
The East Carolina Pirates appeared to be in trouble following their slow start but the team has rebounded to win four of five after downing North Carolina A&T 71-60 on Sunday. The Aggies were held to under 40% while the Pirates responded with 45.5% accuracy which added up to a decisive four more field goals. East Carolina received 21 points and six pulls from BJ Tyson with Charles Foster scoring 13 points. Kentrell Barkley was next in line with eleven points, seven rebounds and six helpers followed by Caleb White with ten points. Altogether ten players received floor time and nine found the scoring column.
The over is 10-4-1 in East Carolina’s last 15 overall and the under is 17-7 in their last 24 home games while going 19-8 in the Pirates last 27 non-conference games. I think North Carolina-Wilmington might be better then the experts thought and hopefully there is no hangover from the Georgetown loss…
