The Line: Iowa Hawkeyes -15 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Iowa Hawkeyes hope to ward off the upset bid of the Drake Bulldogs in a Saturday tilt.
The 4-4 Drake Bulldogs began the season 4-1 but have since dropped three in a row and need a reversal of fortunes. The Bulldogs are coming off of a 79-71 defeat at Nevada on Saturday. The Wolf Pack held a slight 46%-44% shooting advantage but used 13 offensive boards and 14 Drake giveaways and turned them in to 13 more looks at the basket and five more field goals. Reed Timmer gave the Bulldogs 17 points on 7-10 shooting with Kale Abrahamson tossing in 16 points on 6-12 from the floor with four bombs. Jacob Enevold Jensen added 13 points and hauled in eleven rebounds while Ore Arogundade chipped in with eight points and five pulls.

The Iowa Hawkeyes were not supposed to be a top squad in the Big Ten but based on what we have seen thus far I wouldn’t be so sure about that. The Hawkeyes saw a four game winning streak come to an end in an 83-82 loss to Iowa State where a 14 point lead heading to the locker room was wasted. Neither team defended well with both squads sinking shots in the 48% range in a fast paced affair. Iowa sank a few more threes and field throws and the Cyclones hit a few more field goals. Jarrod Uthoff poured in a game high 32 points and snared nine rebounds with Peter Jok tossing in 18 points with the duo going 19-32 from the floor. Adam Woodbury and Mike Gesell scored 12 and nine points so there were plenty of scoring options.
The under is 21-6 in Drake last 27 neutral site games and is 6-2 in their last 8 vs. Big Ten while the Bulldogs are 18-40-2 ATS in their last 60 Saturday games. The over is 6-2 in Iowa’s last 8 overall and is 6-2 in their last 8 non-conference games while going 8-3 in their last 11 neutral site games. The under is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings. Drake looks improved to me but Iowa looks capable of beating anyone so if forced to bet this I’d take a shot with the Hawkeyes…
