Oregon State vs. Quinnipiac - 12/21/15 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Oregon State Beavers won their 2nd straight game and improved to 8-2 (0-0 PAC-12) on the season after defeating the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, 76-71, this past Saturday. Oregon State was down by 6 at halftime but used a strong offensive effort in the 2nd half to outscore Tulsa by a 48-37 margin to secure the victory. Oregon State shot 40.7% from the field and 38.9% (7-18) from beyond the arc in the victory. The Beavers allowed the Golden Hurricane to shot 45.3% shooting from the field and outrebounded Tulsa by a 38-32 margin. Leading the way for Oregon State was Gary Payton II who had 19 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, and a block. On the season, the Beavers have been led by Gary Payton II (16.6 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 5.1 apg, 2.5 spg), Tres Tinkle (10.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.4 spg), and Malcolm Duvivier (8.6 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 2.1 apg). Offensively, Oregon State is averaging 74.2 ppg on 45.1% shooting from the field and 40.3% shooting from beyond the arc. The Beavers average 7.5 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.15. Defensively, Oregon State is holding their opponents to an average of 67.0 ppg on 40.3% shooting. The Beavers have a rebound margin of 1.7 and average 6.5 spg.

The Bobcats are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 non-conference games however, just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games. The Beavers are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 Monday games and 6-16 ATS in their last 22 games overall.

Quinnipiac no longer has their strong frontcourt of Ousmane Drame and Justin Harris and has really struggled to find offensive outside of Giovanni McLean and Chaise Daniels. Oregon State has had a great start to their season and has one of the best point guards in the country in Gary Payton II. Oregon State has played well at Gill Stadium this season and as the Beavers defense should cause the Bobcats all sorts of problems, I’m taking Oregon State to cover this spread. Take Oregon State to cover.
