The Pepperdine Waves look for a big performance when they visit the Portland Pilots.
If the Pepperdine Waves are supposed to be a team to keep an eye on then they need to play much better then we saw against West Coast power Gonzaga. The Waves were waffled 99-73 hat snapped a five game winning streak. The Zags jumped to a 17 point lead after 20 minutes and were never challenged behind 55% marksmanship and 16 bombs. Pepperdine connected at nearly 46% which wasn’t nearly enough to be competitive. Jeremy Major paced the offense with 21 points on 7-11 with Stacy Davis tossing in 15 points. Jeff Raines chipped in with ten points but the team was well short in most areas.

The Portland Pilots have been showing signs of making noise and look to continue that success. The Pilots have won three of four after routing Loyola Marymount 87-60 as 2.5 point favorites Monday night. The Pilots took a 20 point lead in to the locker room and kept the pressure on until the final buzzer. This was a breakdown in all areas for the Lions who were outshot 50.8%-36%. The Pilots received a game high 25 points and five yanks from Bryce Pressley on 7-13 from the field with Jarrel Marshall tossing in ten points on 3-6. Four others netted between 8-9 points so there were plenty of options.
