The Youngstown State Penguins open Horizon League action at the Detroit Titans.
The Youngstown State Penguins have a familiar look in that they do well at the offensive end and so do opponents. The Penguins have been struggling with defeats in four of five following an 87-78 loss at Notre Dame as 24 point road dogs. YSU shot the ball well enough at almost 47% but the Fighting Irish sank shots at 53% and made six more free throws in a far tighter game then many expected. Cameron Morse carried the Youngstown attack with a game high 22 points with Sydney Umude adding 15 points and eleven rebounds. Matt Donlan followed with 14 points while Jordan Andrews and Latin Davis scored 12 and eleven points.

The Detroit Titans have one of the most explosive attacks in the nation but struggle defensively as they outscore opponents 84-83. The Titans need to reverse their fortunes after back to back defeats following an 88-73 loss at Eastern Michigan where the Eagles put up 57 second half points on Monday as a 3.5 point underdog. Both squads connected in the 44% range but the Titans gave the ball away 23 times and were outshot at the stripe 24-12. UDM had three double digit scorers with Josh McFolley leading the way with 19 points on five bombs. Chris Jenkins added 14 points nine rebounds while Anton Wilson scored 13 points and committed game high seven turnovers.
The over is 35-16 in Youngstown State last 51 Saturday games and is 43-20 in their last 63 road games. Detroit are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games overall. The favorite is 7-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings and the over is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings in Detroit. I hate laying points with the Titans because their defense stinks…
