The North Carolina State Wolfpack battle the Virginia Tech Hokies in ACC action Saturday.

The North Carolina State Wolfpack are looking to make a name for themselves in the ACC at 10-2 although their strength of schedule might be a question. The Wolfpack have been on a roll with seven consecutive victories after downing Northeastern 72-66 as a 6.5 point favorite. The Wolfpack owned a slight 46.7%-44% shooting edge with four more baskets to give them just enough to win. Anthony Barber Paced NC State with a game high 29 points and five yanks on 11-20 shooting while Maverick Rowan tossed in 16 points. Abdul-Malik Abu added ten points and 12 rebounds with Caleb Martin chipping in with eight points and seven boards.

Virginia Tech Hokies vs. North Carolina State Wolfpack - 1/2/16 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

In seasons past the Virginia Tech Hokies have been criticized for their strength of schedule and might be once again. The Hokies have beaten the teams they should but West Virginia wasn’t one of those teams as the Mountaineers defeat VT 88-63 last time out on Wednesday. WVU jumped to a ten point lead at the half and kept the pressure on throughout behind nearly 51% accuracy and 23 more looks at the basket to easily overcome the Hokies 47% shooting. Shane Henry led a trio of double digit scorers with 12 points on 4-4 from the field with Zach LeDay adding eleven points and nine rebounds. Seth Allen and Jalen Hudson combined for 19 points but the Hokies needed a few more scorers in this one.

North Carolina State are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 Saturday games. The over is 7-2 in Virginia Tech last 9 Saturday games and the favorite is 6-2 ATS in the last 8 meetings. If North Carolina State loses that tells me their lofty record is complete nonsense…
