The East Carolina Pirates go on the road to face the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.
The East Carolina Pirates are a decent scoring and defensive team and they probably need a bit more from both ends of the floor to be factor in the AAC. The Pirates have lost two of three after a 71-68 defeat at the hands of visiting Central Florida on Saturday. The Knights held a 44%-35% shooting edge but gave the ball away 18 times to help ECU to 14 more looks at the basket but that edge was negated by a 7-26 effort on threes. BJ Tyson led four double digit scorers with 17 points with Caleb White tossing in 16. Kentrell Barkley added 14 points and six boards with eleven points and seven helpers coming from Prince Williams.
USA TODAY Sports
The Tulsa Golden Hurricane average around 75 points but in three of the last four times out the offense failed to reach that number and all three went in to the loss column. The Golden Hurricane are coming off of a 76-57 loss at Cincinnati Saturday as an eight point underdog. Tulsa lost because of 33% marksmanship while the Bearcats countered with nearly 46% accuracy including a 12-23 performance on threes. Shaquille Harrison led the Golden Hurricane with 21 points and six assists with Pat Birt adding 13 points and six boards. James Woodard chipped in with nine points but the offense needed more options.
The over is 6-2-1 in East Carolina last 9 road games and the Pirates are 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 Tuesday games. Tulsa are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 Tuesday games and are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 home games while going 5-11-1 ATS in their last 17 games overall. Tulsa might have some players out so I’ll take the points for now…
