The Western Michigan Broncos host MAC rival the Kent State Golden Flashes.
The Kent State Golden Flashes begin conference play off of back to back wins after throttling sub division Oberlin 104-58. One of the favorites in the MAC were dominant in every area as the Yeoman were held to only 32% from the field while the Golden Flashes fired away at 57% with eleven more looks at the basket and a 48-20 advantage on the backboards. Jimmy Hall led the Kent State score fest with 18 points on 9-11 shooting with Deon Edwin right on his heels with 17 points and nine boards. The Western Michigan Broncos were probably hoping for better results heading in to conference play but they are tough to figure with strong efforts versus good competition and average performances against some lesser names. WMU is heading in to conference action off of a 76-72 win versus visiting Jacksonville Saturday that ended a two game skid. Both teams sank shots at 46% with the Dolphins totaling nine more shots and four more baskets while Western Michigan leaned a 22-7edge at the line to win. Tucker Haymond paced the WNU attack with 24 points, five yanks and six pulls while Drake LaMont added 21 points and seven boards. Thomas Wilder netted 18 points and AJ Avery scored six points with a game high 14 rebounds.
Kent State are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 road games and the under is 11-5-1 in their last 17 vs. Mid-American. The under is 6-2-1 in Western Michigan last 9 Tuesday games while the over is 34-16-3 in their last 53 home games. The underdog is 7-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings and the road team is 7-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings. I say there are better opportunities elsewhere in what should be entertaining to watch…
