The North Dakota State Bison lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 11-6 (1-2 Summit) on the season after being defeated by the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles, 66-65, this past Saturday. North Dakota State shot 42.4% from the field however, struggled from beyond the arc hitting just 27.8% (5-18) of their three-pointers. The Bison allowed the Golden Eagles to shoot 45.6% from the field and 31.3% (5-16) form beyond the arc. North Dakota State outrebounded Oral Roberts by a 39-30 margin but loss the turnover battle by a 14-9 margin. Leading the way for North Dakota State was Dexter Werner who had a double-double with 19 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, and a block from off the bench. On the season, the Bison have been led by Paul Miller (16.7 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 1.6 apg), A.J. Jacobson (13.8 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 1.8 apg), and Dexter Werner (8.7 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 1.1 apg). Defensively, North Dakota State is holding their opponents to an average of 65.4 ppg on 44.2% shooting from the field. The Bison have a rebound margin of 2.2 and a turnover margin of 3.0.
The Coyotes are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 Wednesday games and 1-6 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Bison are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. Summit opponents however just 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
South Dakota likes to keep games at a fast-paced tempo however, the Coyotes have really struggled on the defensive end as they rank 327th in the country in scoring defense. North Dakota State is still an above average team in the Summit but certainly isn’t the same team without Lawrence Alexander in the lineup. North Dakota State had their 31 game home streak snapped against Omaha in their last home game and I think they come out strong against the weak Coyotes defense to cover the spread in this one.
