The Hawaii Warriors visit the mainland to take the floor with the UC Riverside Highlanders.
The Hawaii Warriors look like one of the top contenders in the Big West as they have built an impressive 13-2 record by outscoring the opposition 80-66. Both ends of the floor have had a role in a five game winning streak capped off by a 65-58 victory versus visiting UC Santa Barbara pulled away with a 38-29 run in the second half. The Warriors held a slight 39%-37.7% shooting advantage which added up to a few more field goals and was the winning stat. Isaac Fleming poured in a contest best 22 points on 7-13 with Stefan Jankovic scoring 19 on 9-14 while Michael Thomas and Roderick Bobbitt combined for 13 points and 15 rebounds.

The UC Riverside Highlanders don’t have the big offense or shutdown defense so both ends of the floor have to play well to succeed. The Highlanders need a change in momentum with four consecutive defeats after falling at UC Irvine 84-68 as a 12.5 point underdog. The Anteaters took a 14 point lead in to the second half and kept the wraps on the UCR offense that mustered 36% shooting and allowed 56% which was decisive. The Highlanders received 20 points from Jaylen Bland on 7-12 while Secean Johnson and Taylor Johns netting 15 points apiece with Johns grabbing eight rebounds. UC Riverside had some explosive scoring but not a lot outside of the three top scorers.
Hawaii are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 Thursday games and the over is 39-16 in their last 55 road games. The under is 9-3 in UC Riverside last 12 home games and the Highlanders are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 home games. I’m just going with the eye test but note this is the Warriors first 2nd road game…
