The Central Florida Knights look like an improved team although cracking the top four with so many good teams is highly unlikely. The Knights were trying to get on a roll with consecutive victories before faltering in an 88-73 defeat at SMU Sunday as a 14 point underdog. UCF trailed by 14 points and were unable to make a run against the Mustangs. Central Florida shot the ball well enough at 47% but Southern Methodist was unstoppable at 55% which equaled eight more field goals. Justin McBride was the Knights best scoring option with 20 points and nine rebounds on 9-12 from the field with Matt Williams dropping 12 points on 4-6. AJ Davis and Chance McSpadden combined for 14 points in an overall solid scoring game.
