The Ohio Bobcats visit MAC East rival the Kent State Golden Flashes in Saturday action.
At 11-5 the Kent State Golden Flashes can’t complain but it’s what they do in the conference that determines their success. The Golden Flashes improved to 2-1 in the MAC after downing Miami (Ohio) 76-68 Tuesday as a nine point home favorite. The Redhawks sank shots at 39% and totaled 12 more looks thanks to 16 Kent giveaways but the Golden Flashes 49% accuracy and eight more free throws carried the day. Jimmy Hall paced Kent State with 18 points and six pulls with Kellon Thomas scoring 19. Marvin Jones added 12 points and eight helpers while Deon Edwin and Chris Ortiz chipped in with eight points apiece.

The Ohio Bobcats might be 10-5 and off to a solid start but they must prove themselves in the conference where they haven’t been much of a factor for several years. The Bobcats fell to 1-2 in the MAC after a 91-75 defeat at the hands of Bowling Green Tuesday who were ten point road dogs. The Falcons erased a five point deficit at the half with a 58-38 run over the final 20 minutes. Ohio had a 49%-47% shooting edge but logged eleven more shots and sank ten more free throws. Kenny Kaminski led the Bobcats with 15 points with Antonio Campbell and Jaaron Simmons scoring 13 points apiece. Jordan Dartis and Khari Harley combined for 19 points as scoring was plentiful but defense was not.
The over is 7-1 in Ohio last 8 road games and Ohio are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games overall. Kent State are 16-34-3 ATS in their last 53 home games and the underdog is 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings. I have think the spread is about right here so the Golden Flashes on potential?
