The Line: Northern Kentucky Norse -3 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds

The Northern Kentucky Norse welcome the Cleveland State Vikings to town Saturday.

The Cleveland State Vikings have won the Horizon and won an NCAA tournament game but that’s going to happen this season as ten wins might not be realistic. The Vikings have lost five in a row after a 70-53 defeat Wright State as a seven point underdog. The Vikings were down ten at the break and were never able to challenge despite 48% shooting with 15 giveaways and a 3-14 effort on threes doing them in. The Raiders hit at 47% but were 10-25 on threes and managed a few more shots and baskets. Demonte Flannigan was the lone double digit scorer with 14 points on 6-13 shooting with Kenny Carpenter chipping in with 4-5 from the floor.

Northern Kentucky Norse vs. Cleveland State Vikings - 1/16/16 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Northern Kentucky Norse are in their first season as a member of the Horizon League  and they are taking their lumps as expected. The Norse earned their first conference win and snapped a four game slide with an 84-64 rout of visiting Youngstown State as a five point favorite Thursday. The Norse jumped to an 18 point lead after 20 minutes and never looked back. The Penguins were held to less then 39% while UNK hit at 48% with 15 more looks at the basket which added up to 12 field goals. The Norse received a game high 20 points, nine rebounds and six helpers from Tyler White with Drew McDonald adding 16 points and five yanks. Jalen Billups was next in line with 14 points while Cole Murray netted eleven points.

Cleveland State doesn’t have enough talent because they are rebuilding an Northern Kentucky doesn’t have Horizon League talent in their first season in the conference. I don’t see a whole lot of advantages to exploit on either side and with both going a combined 10-23 you know why…
