The Clemson Tigers face a tall task in the #11 Virginia Cavaliers on the road Tuesday.
The Clemson Tigers are trying to make a name for themselves in the ultra competitive ACC. The Tigers have been on a little bit of a roll with five consecutive conference wins capped off by a 76-65 decision over Miami as a 4.5 point home dog. The Hurricanes were held to 43.6% from the floor including 7-14 on threes while countering with 48% marksmanship and a perfect 15-15 from the line putting this game in the win column. Jaron Blossomgame led all scorers with 25 points and seven boards on 9-15 while Jordan Roper adding 18 points, six assists and five steals. The #11 Virginia Cavaliers were pegged as one of if not the top contender in the Atlantic Coast. However the Cavaliers have been stumbling of late with defeats in three of four following a 69-62 defeat at Florida State on Sunday as a 3.5 point favorite. UVA is known for their defense but the Seminoles sank shots at nearly 49% but 15 FSU turnovers gave the 39% shooting Cavs a fighting chance with 13 more looks which wasn’t enough. Virginia received a game high 19 points from London Perrantes on 4-13 from the field with Anthony Gill tossing in 13 points on 5-8 shooting. Malcolm Brogdon added ten points, five yanks and five assists but UVA needed more secondary scoring.
The over is 9-2 in Clemson last 11 vs. Atlantic Coast and Clemson are 4-10-2 ATS in their last 16 Tuesday games while the over is 11-5 in their last 16 Tuesday games. The under is 33-12 in Virginia last 45 Tuesday games and is 8-3 in their last 11 overall. I think the Tigers are playing too well to ignore the points…
