The #14 Miami Hurricanes look to move up in the polls with a win at the Boston College Eagles.
The Miami Hurricanes have been a handful for opponents this season but they have regroup after consecutive defeats if they expect to stay in the national rankings. The Hurricanes are coming in off of a 76-65 loss at Clemson as a 4.5 point favorite. Clemson dominated the second half 44-33 toe erase a two point deficit. The Tigers sank shots at 48% and were 15-15 at the stripe with the Canes hitting at less then 44% which was decisive. Miami received 17 points from Davon Reed with Angel Rodriguez tossing in 14 points. Ja’Quan Newton and Tonye Jekiri scored eight points apiece with Jekiri hauling in eleven rebounds.

The one thing the Boston College Eagles had hoped to avoid was a slow start to conference play with the ACC having far too many heavyweights to deal with. Both ends of the floor has been have struggled leading to an 0-4 start in the conference capped off by an 84-61 defeat at Pittsburgh as a 19 point underdog. The Panthers were up seven heading in to the locker room but pulled away over the final 20 minutes. Pitt burned the nets at 58% including a 10-19 effort from distance and totaled eight more looks at the basket to outdistance the 47% shooting Eagles. Eli Carter gave BC a game high 31 points on 12-22 from the field while Dennis Clifford added 12 points and six boards but offensive options were few.
