The Cal Poly Mustangs would be in much better shape if they could turn some close defeats in to wins and finally did just that in a 96-92, overtime victory versus visiting Long Beach State as a three point favorite on Saturday. The boxscore was just about even throughout with the 49ers holding a slight 47%-44% shooting edge with eleven more looks at the basket producing three more field goals. Brian Bennett gave the Mustangs 21 points and 12 rebounds with Reese Morgan and Josh Martin tossing in 14 points apiece. Joel Awich added 12 points and six boards while Zach Gordon and Taylor Sutlive netting eleven points each.

The Cal State Northridge Matadors are at the point that another few conference losses will have them waiting to make a run in the Big West postseason.
