The Line: Northern Arizona Lumberjacks 0 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds

The North Dakota Fighting Hawks shoot for a road win versus the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks.

The North Dakota Fighting Hawks don’t have numbers that jump off the page but they have been competitive. The Fighting Hawks had a two game win streak end and fell to 3-3 in the Big Sky after a 65-61 defeat to Montana as a four point underdog on Saturday.  ND had a 46%-44.6% with the Grizzlies turning six more looks in to a few more baskets. Quinton Hooker led four double digit scorers with 20 points on 7-16 from the floor with Drick Bernstine adding 14 points and eight boards on 7-12. Geno Grandall and Conner Avants each scored ten points and combined for eleven rebounds in what was a winnable contest.

Northern Arizona Lumberjacks vs. North Dakota Sioux - 1/21/16 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Northern Arizona Lumberjacks were a solid squad a season ago but were hit hard by graduation and that is reflected in their 3-13 record.  The Lumberjacks dropped to 1-4 in the conference after a 96-73 loss at Eastern Washington as an 11.5 point underdog. The Eagles jumped to a 13 point lead at the break and never looked back with 55% shooting do most of the damage. The Lumberjacks countered with 44% from the field but that was a difference of nine field goals. Ako Kaluna gave NAU 18 points on 8-19 with Kris Yanku and Torry Johnson netting 14 points apiece. Marcus DeBerry chipped in with ten points and eight helpers but the offense couldn’t get enough defensive help.

The over is 11-5 in North Dakota last 16 vs. Big Sky. Northern Arizona are 11-2-3 ATS in their last 16 Thursday games and  are 20-7-3 ATS in their last 30 vs. Big Sky while going  3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall. I think the Lumberjacks lost enough firepower to where they are vulnerable here…
