The Memphis Tigers visit the Sunshine State to oppose the Central Florida Knights.
The Memphis Tigers might be hard pressed to crack the top four in the American which means they will be looking to capture the conference playoffs. The Tigers were not supposed to have a problem with visiting East Carolina as a 16.5 point favorite but the Pirates had different plans with an 84-83 victory. Both teams sank shots in the 47%-48% range with Memphis totaling 14 more shots but ECU countered with an 11-21 effort on threes and sank seven more free throws. Dedric Lawson pumped in a game high 27 points with five yanks on 11-15 while Shaq Goodwin added 15 points, 12 rebounds and six assists. Trahson Burrell netted 13 points with ten boards and nine assists and Sam Craft chipped in with ten points.

The Central Florida Knights have looked better this season then in previous years but they were reminded on Sunday that there is still room for improvement. The Knights hung tough at Tulsa until late when the Golden Hurricane pulled away for a 75-60 victory. UCF shot the ball better at 45%-35% but they gave the ball away 18 times leading to 18 more Tulsa shots with the Golden Hurricane sinking 19 more foul shots. Justin McBride was Central Florida’s lone double digit scorer with 15 points and seven boards on 6-10 while Matt Williams and AJ Davis combined for 17 points but scoring options were limited with too many miscues.
Central Florida are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 home games and are 2-10 ATS in their last 12 Tuesday games while going 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games overall. The favorite is 7-1-1 ATS in the last 9 meetings and Memphis are 12-3-1 ATS in the last 16 meetings. I think the Knights have improved but I expected this to be around four points so take that for what it’s worth…
