The Northern Arizona Lumberjacks shoot for a huge upset at the Weber State Wildcats.
I really liked the makeup of the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks a year ago but a Lion’s Share of their talent graduated and the result has been a 3-15 record with 83 points per game allowed. The Lumberjacks are coming off loss number four in a row in an 84-79 defeat to visiting Northern Colorado where each team traded baskets for 40 minutes. Both squads sank shots at around 45% with the Bears sinking eight more free throws to offset a few more NAU long balls. Mike Green led all scorers with 23 points on 6-12 with a 5-6 mark on threes with Kris Yanku adding 17 points and six pulls. Ako Kaluna tossed in eleven points and grabbed six boards while Felix Rivera-Vega and Corey Brown combining for 18 points.

The Weber State Wildcats were supposed to battle Montana for supremacy in the Big Sky and that has how it’s panned out so far. The Wildcats had won eight straight before a 69-68 defeat at Idaho State as a 12 point road favorite on Saturday. The Wildcats connected at 41% from the floor with nine more looks at the basket but the Bengals 53% marksmanship was just enough to get the win. Jeremy Senglin gave Weber State a game high 20 points on 8-14 including four bombs with Joel Bolomboy adding 13 points and seven boards. Dusty Baker tossed in eleven points with five yanks with McKay Cannon chipping in with eight points.
Northern Arizona are 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 Thursday games and are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 road games while going 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games overall. The under is 6-2 in Weber State last 8 Thursday games and Weber State are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall while going 38-14-2 ATS in their last 54 Thursday games. Too much chalk for my liking but the Wildcats cover if they care…
