The La Salle Explorers host the rival St. Joseph’s Hawks for the second match up of the year.
This has been a rebuilding season for the La Salle Explorers and their 5-13 record says that with the team getting outscored 73-64. The Explorers are in the midst of a five game slide capped off by an 87-60 defeat at Duquesne Tuesday as an 11.5 point road underdog. As usual the Dayton Flyers are one of the challengers in the Atlantic Ten with a real possibility of winning the conference and gaining the automatic NCAA invite. The 17-3 Flyers have won five in a row after dominating both ends of the floor in Wednesday’s 73-37 rout of visiting St. Louis. The Flyers were up nine at the break before going wild over the final 20 minutes. The Billikens were held to a mere 27% from the field with a 3-24 mark on threes while UD connected at 47% which was a difference of ten baskets. The Flyers received 18 points and eight rebounds from Kendall Pollard on 8-9 marksmanship with Dyshawn Pierre adding 12 points and another eight rebounds. Charles Cooke scored ten points and posted five yanks with five others netting between 5-7 points.
The under is 10-4-1 in La Salle last 15 Saturday games and is 9-4 in their last 13 vs. Atlantic 10. The under is 16-5 in Dayton last 21 Saturday games. I don’t like the chalk but the Flyers can cover if they want to…
