The Rhode Island Rams look to even their season series versus the St. Joseph’s Hawks.
I’d say most people would be lying if they expected the St. Joseph’s Hawks to be 17-3 but they have been the model of consistency. The Hawks have won six in a row after knocking off visiting Massachusetts 78-70 with a late run erasing a one point deficit. The Minutemen connected at 43% for three more field goals versus the 38.6% shooting Hawks but St. Joes sank 19 more free throws to win it. Isaiah Miles led all scorers with 27 points and 12 rebounds on 8-14 with DeAndre Bembry adding 13 points and nine boards. James Demery scored eleven points while Aaron Brown chipped in with nine points in a very balanced attack.

The Rhode Island Rams have enough scoring and defense to make opponents in the Atlantic Ten squirm. Right now the Rams are in the top half of the conference following wins in two of three capped off by a 79-63 rout of Fordham as a ten point home favorite. A 40-28 second half run broke open a competitive contest as the Fordham offense was held to 41.5% while URI nailed 51% of their looks including 10-24 from beyond the arc to win going away. Jared Terrell led all scorers with 25 points on 10-18 from the floor with Jarvis Garrett adding 16 points and six helpers. Hassan Martin scored eleven points and hauled in nine rebounds while Four McGlynn and Earl Watson chipped in with eight points each.
St. Joes are 13-3-1 ATS in their last 17 games overall and Rhode Island are 13-6 ATS in their last 19 Saturday games. The Hawks defeated the Rams the first meeting and it’s hard to beat a decent team twice but with the points I don’t need to win…
