The Temple Owls make the long trip south to take the hardwood with the South Florida Bulls.
The Temple Owls seemed ready to make a run in the AAC with wins in five of six before falling flat in a 64-61 defeat at East Carolina on Wednesday as a 5.5 point favorite. Good defense or poor shooting ruled the day with the Pirates holding a 41%-39% edge in marksmanship with the Owls turning the ball over 14 times. The result was ECU sank a few more field goals and five more free throws to offset Temple’s 9-3 edge from long range. Obi Enechionyia paced Temple with 18 points and five yanks on 6-15 with Quenton DeCosey tossing in 14 points and hauling in eleven rebounds. Ernest Aflakpui and Devin Coleman chipped in with eight points apiece with Aflakpui snaring ten boards.

The South Florida Bulls 5-17 records needs no explanation so their scoring and defense have been down. However the Bulls have won consecutive contests after knocking off Tulane 73-60 on Wednesday. USF took an eight point lead in to the break and never let the Green Wave comeback with Tulane held to a mere 30% from the floor including a 7-30 effort on long balls. South Florida counters with 48% accuracy with 14 more free throws as the team received strong performances at both ends of the floor. Jahmal McMurray paced the Bulls with a game high 23 points on 9-18 with Jaleel Cousins adding 17 points and nine rebounds. Angel Nunez was next in line with 16 points and ten points while Nehemias Morillo chipped in with eight points.
South Florida are 18-37-1 ATS in their last 56 home games. I’m just going with the better team but check the Owls lineup before the game because a few players were questionable…
