The Cal State Matadors oppose the UC Riverside Highlanders for the second time this year.
The Cal State Matadors have not been able to get both ends of the floor on the same page lately and the result is defeats in four of five. The Matadors come in off of a 73-63 loss to visiting UC Irvine as a 7.5 point home dog. The Anteaters took an eleven point lead after 20 minutes and traded baskets the rest of the way. UC Irvine burned the nets at 52% with the Matadors countering with 41% with a 1-12 performance from long range. Aaron Parks was the Matadors best offensive option with 17 points on 8-13 from the field with Tre Hale-Edmerson adding eleven points and seven boards. Michael Warren chipped in with nine points as CS Northridge had limited scoring options.

I seriously doubt the UC Riverside Highlanders make a run at the top spot in the Big West but a top four finish is not out of the realm of possibility. The Highlanders have won three in a row after knocking off Cal State Fullerton 81-71 behind a 54 point second half that negated a four point hole at the break. Riverside sank shots at 48% and owned a 30-12 advantage at the charity stripe which was to much for the 42% accuracy of the Titans to compete with despite 16 extra looks at the basket. The duo of Tre Coggins and Jamar Akoh scored 13 points each with Akoh grabbing seven boards with Kyle Allman scoring ten points. Khalil Ahmad and Malcolm Brooks netted nine points apiece while Malcolm Henderson chipped in with eight points and seven rebounds.
CS Northridge are 7-25 ATS in their last 32 Wednesday games. The under is 10-4 in UC Riverside last 14 home games and is 22-9 in their last 31 Wednesday games while the Highlanders are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 home games. The road team is 7-2 ATS in the last 9 meetings. I don’t think UC Riverside is that bad but the spread makes me uncomfortable…
