The Texas-Arlington Mavericks battle for position when they visit the Texas State Bobcats.
The Texas-Arlington Mavericks looked like one of the teams to beat in the Sun Belt early on but have been fading with defeats in five of six before knocking off Georgia State 90-69 as a two road dog on Saturday. The 45% marksmanship of the Mavericks gave them four more field goals against; the 42% shooting Panthers with more threes and foul shots putting this game out of reach. Jorge Bilbao led all scorers with 18 points and eleven rebounds with Erick Neal dropping 17 points. Drew Charles added 16 points and eight boards while Kaelon Wilson and Jalen Jones scored 15 and ten points and combined for 13 rebounds.

The Texas State Bobcats are reduced to making a run in the conference postseason as they have struggle to sore points and winnable games have gone by the wayside. The Bobcats have lost four in a row and six of seven capped off by a 66-62 defeat at Georgia Southern as a 3.5 underdog. The Bobcats totaled eleven more looks at the basket but were done in by 40% shooting including 3-16 from distance while the Eagles sank half their looks with five more bombs to win it. Ethan Montalvo led the Bobcats with 16 points followed by a 14 point, eleven rebound effort from Emani Gant. Kevin Gilder-Tillbury and Cameron Naylor combined for 21 points and 14 rebounds while Ojal Black chipped in with eight points.
The over is 11-4 in Texas State last 11 home games. The Mavericks are the better squad but Texas State can be tough at home. What I have found with these two teams is to not even bother betting them because you lose more then you win…
