The Line: UC Davis Aggies +3 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos visit the UC Davis Aggies with both teams eyeing a spot in the top four of the Big West.
The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos have been in a win one, lose one mode for the past few weeks and that won’t move the team up in the standings. The Gauchos will be looking for back to back wins after downing CS Fullerton 81-68 as a nine point favorite. UCSB rallied from a seven point deficit at the half with a 54-34 run over the final 20 minutes behind 48% shooting and a 12-24 performance from long range. The Gauchos defense held the Titans to 38% accuracy which was a decisive seven field goals. Michael Bryson paced Santa Barbara with 25 points, nine rebounds and seven assists with Gabe Vincent next in line with 20 points. Eric Childress added 13 points and seven helpers with three others scoring 5-7 points.

The UC Davis Aggies are not as strong as they were a season ago but they are hanging tough for a spot in the top four. The Aggies tend to play things close to the vest and that was the case in a 50-49 win at UC Riverside for their third victory in four contests. Defense or poor shooting ruled this one with the Aggies holding a 34.5%-27.7% shooting advantage which added up to six more baskets while the Highlanders countered with eleven more makes at the charity stripe. Josh Fox was the best player on the floor with 16 points and six pulls on 7-11 from the field. Brynton Lemar netted13 points while the players scored six points apiece with Neal Monson hauling in a game high 12 rebounds.
The under is 14-6-2 in UCSB last 22 Thursday games and is 8-0 in UC Davis last 8 home games. The Gauchos are 9-3-1 ATS in the last 13 meetings. I thought the Aggies would be a slight home favorite so this line feels strange to me…
