The Central Florida Knights look to right the ship at the Houston Cougars Saturday.
At 11-11 I’d have to say I like the way the Central Florida Knights have played overall but the team is giving back everything gained early in the year. The Knights have dropped five of six with an inconsistent offense hurting them. Neither end of the floor did well in a 69-51 defeat to visiting Cincinnati with the Bearcats going on a 38-21 second half run to win going away as a ten point favorite. The Bearcats only hit shots at 36.5% but forced 18 turnovers that led the way to 21 more looks at the basket. UCF connected at 38% and might have had a chance if not for mistakes. Matt Williams was the Knights best player with a game high 24 points on 8-15 including six bombs with AJ Davis adding 16 points and seven boards on 4-12.

The Houston Cougars are an improved squad even though they are 6th in the conference and have a tough road to climb to the top four. The Cougars have been doing their part lately with wins in four of five following a 98-90 victory versus visiting Memphis with a 58-42 scoring burst to end the game and negate an eight point first half hole. The Tigers hit at 49% with eight more looks at the basket to stay with the 56% shooting Cougars who sank a decisive eight more free throws. Devonta Pollard led all scorers with 34 points on 14-24 followed by a 24 point effort from Damyean Dotson. Galen Robinson Jr. tossed in 18 points on 5-9 while LeRon Barnes added 12 points and seven boards.
Central Florida are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 Saturday games and are 15-6 ATS in their last 21 games overall. Houston are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 home games and the underdog is 11-3-1 ATS in the last 15 meetings. Both teams have injuries so pleas check back when line is released…
