The La Salle Explorers butt heads with the rival St. Joseph’s Hawks in an Atlantic Ten action.
The La Salle Explorers are in obvious rebuilding mode so their record is suffering. The Explorers have dropped nine in a row with both ends of the floor having problems. LAS is coming off of a 79-66 defeat at Davidson as a 16 point underdog where they hung around before fading in the second half. The Explorers shot the ball well at 54% but the Wildcats countered with 58% marksmanship including a 12-24 performance from long range. La Salle received 20 points on 9-11 from Yevgen Sakhniuk with Jordan Price adding 15 points, seven boards and six assists. Tony Washington tossed in eleven while Johnnie Shuler chipping in with eight as the offense and defense needed a bit more.

The St. Joseph’s Hawks are enjoying their best season in recent memory which is saying a lot with the Atlantic Ten possessing some very good teams. The Hawks have rebounded from a rare loss to post back to back victories with an 84-66 win at George Washington as a 4.5 point underdog on Wednesday. St. Joes took a seven point lead in to the locker room and pulled away over the final 20 minutes behind nearly 57% marksmanship. The Colonials connected at 44% but could not match the Hawks basket for basket. Isaiah Miles led St. Joes with 21 points and nine rebounds on 8-12 with DeAndre Bembry adding 14 points and five yanks on 6-12. Shavar Newkirk and James Demery scored ten points apiece while Pierfrancesco Oliva and Lamarr Kimble combined for 17 points.
The under is 20-9 in La Salle last 29 road games and the under is 11-5-1 in their last 17 Saturday games. St. Joes are 16-4-1 ATS in their last 21 games overall and are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 vs. Atlantic 10. The favorite is 12-4-1 ATS in the last 17 meetings. The Hawks can win by 25 or by 15 and I don’t think they care so I’m not interested…
