The Colorado State Rams could secure a top four spot in the Mountain West but wins are needed as well as some help. The Rams have taken a few steps in the right direction with consecutive victories after knocking off visiting Boise State 97-93 in double overtime as a 3.5 point home dog. The Broncos held a 44.6%-42% shooting edge with 18 bombs but CSU nailed eleven threes themselves and sank 13 more free throws. Kimani Jackson led five double digit scorers with 19 points with Prentiss Nixon tossing in 15. Emmanuel Omogbo and Tiel Daniels scored 13 and 12 points with a combined 22 rebounds while Joe De Ciman added ten points and six pulls.

The UNLV Rebels are in the same boat at their counterparts with wins needed along with plenty of help. The Rebels snapped a three game skid with a 64-61 win versus an improved San Jose State on Wednesday as a 14 point favorite. The Spartans were in the driver’s seat with a 13 point lead at the break before the Rebels dominated both ends of the floor in a 40-24 second half run. SJSU sank shots at 38%but turned the ball over 15 times to give the 29% shooting Rebels 13 more looks at the basket and a fighting chance. UNLV received 16 points from Patrick McCaw with Ike Nwamu adding 15 points and seven boards. Derrick Jones Jr. netted 14 points and hauled in 18 rebounds while Jerome Seagears tossed in 13 points and posted six steals.
