The East Tennessee State Buccaneers look to stay in the top four of the SoCon with a win at the Citadel Bulldogs.
The East Tennessee State Buccaneers won’t win the SoCon regular season title but they are setting themselves up nicely for the conference postseason and then anything goes. The Buccaneers have won four of five capped off by an 83-77 victory versus a stubborn Western Carolina as a 6.5 point home favorite on Monday. The Catamounts were smelling upset with a three point lead at the break before ETSU lit up the scoreboard for 48 second half points. WCU sank half their looks with the Buccaneers countering at 54.7% for four more baskets which was decisive. Deuce Bello gave ETSU a game high 20 points and seven rebounds with Desonta Bradford adding 18 points and six pulls. Ge’Lawn Guyn followed with 14 points while TJ Cromer and Peter Jurkin combined for 21 points.

The Citadel possess the best scoring offense in the country at 88 points but opponents average 93 in a run and gun playground style of play. With the regular season winding down the Bulldogs might be able to climb closer to the middle of the standings but even that’s not a given. The Bulldogs have dropped five in a row after a 99-89 defeat at Wofford on Tuesday as a 13.5 point underdog. The Terriers led by 15 after 20 minutes and scored enough to maintain a comfortable win. Wofford simply shot the ball to well at 58% with the Citadel checking in at around 48% with a 30-15 edge at the stripe doing the Bulldogs in. Derrick Henry paced the Citadel with 23 points on 7-9 with Brian White and Warren Sledge netting 13 points apiece. Quayson Williams tossed in eleven while Connor Schroeder and Zane Najdawi scored nine points each.
ETSU are 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall and are 8-21-1 ATS in their last 30 vs. Southern while the over is 10-4-1 in their last 15 overall. The over is 21-5 in Citadel last 26 home games and the Citadel are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Thursday games while the over is 35-16 in their last 51 overall. I am waiting for a total but for right now…
