The Kent State Golden Flashes always seem to be a club to watch in the MAC and although the team might not be at their peak I personally believe they are a solid team. After dropping three in a row Kent State has won two of three after outlasting Western Michigan 85-78 in overtime Tuesday as a four point home favorite. Both teams sank shots in the 46% range with the Broncos totaling nine more looks at the basket and a few more field goals that were negated by the Golden Flashes 13-26 mark on threes and five more free throws. Galal Cancer paced the Kent State attack with 24 points on 8-13 with Kellon Thomas and Jimmy Hall netting 15 points apiece. Deon Edwin and Chris Ortiz scored 13 points each and combined for eleven rebounds.
Akron are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall and are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 vs. Mid-American while going 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games. The over is 10-2 in Kent State last 12 home games and Kent State are 4-11-2 ATS in their last 17 home games. The under is 6-1-1 in the last 8 meetings and the road team is 5-2-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings. The Zips at small chalk? I’ll take them…
