The Southern Illinois Salukis were in a free fall with four consecutive defeats but rebounded the last few weeks with a 3-0 record after knocking off Bradley 71-59 as a 16.5 point home favorite Wednesday. SIU took over the game with a 35-25 second half run behind a defense that forced 22 turnovers. The Braves held a 42.6%-41.5% shooting edge but SIU totaled 18 more looks at the basket and totaled seven more baskets. Sean O’Brien poured in 24 points on 11-14 to lead all scorers with Mike Rodriguez tossing in 14 points. Bola Olaniyan added eleven points and eleven rebounds while Leo Vincent and Tyler Smithpeters scoring eight points apiece.

Many people believed the Evansville Purple Eagles were talented enough to make the Missouri Valley squirm and so far that has been the case. The Purple Aces currently reside in third with aspirations of moving higher. Evansville has won three of four after Bradley 67-35 with an 18 point lead heading to the locker room with the game getting even more out of hand in the second half. The Braves had no chance with 26% accuracy with the Purple Aces firing away at 53% which accounted for 12 more baskets. DJ Ballentine led the offense with 16 points on 5-9 with Jaylon Brown adding 14 points and five yanks. Blake Simmons was next in line with 13 points and five pulls while Willie Wiley chipped in with eight points.
