The Idaho State Bengals visit the Southern Utah Thunderbirds for the second meeting this season.
The Idaho State Bengals sit 5th in the Big Sky which means a top four finish is very much a reality if the team wins games. The Bengals were on the right track with victories in seven of eight before suffering an 81-66 defeat at Northern Arizona as a three point road favorite. The Lumberjacks were up ten at the half and continued to keep the pressure on throughout behind nearly 48% shooting and nine more looks at the basket courtesy of 16 ISU turnovers. The Bengals 40% from the field added up to a decisive eight less field goals. Geno Luzcando was Idaho State’s best scoring option with 23 points and five yanks on 6-11 with Ethan Telfair dropping eleven. Kyle Ingram followed with eleven points but the scoring could not keep pace with the defense.

The Southern Utah Thunderbirds expected more form this season but instead have not been able to get both ends of the floor on the same page. The Thunderbirds have dropped nine in a row despite a strong performance in an 87-83 loss versus visiting Weber State as a 14.5 point underdog on Thursday night. The Wildcats burned the nets at 53.5% with the Thunderbirds responding at 49% with 14 more looks at the baskets. James McGee paced the Southern Utah with 21 points on 6-10 including a 5-8 mark on threes. Juwan Major tossed in eleven points with Paris Davis and Travon Langston scoring ten each while Casey Oliverson and Christian Thompson chipping in with eight points.
The under is 9-2 in Idaho State last 11 Saturday games and the Bengals are 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall while going 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 vs. Big Sky. Southern Utah are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 Saturday games and are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 vs. Big Sky while going 7-19 ATS in their last 26 games overall. I think this is a guess and I’m not in to guessing even though the numbers back the Bengals…
