The William & Mary Tribe was able to snap their two game losing streak and get an impressive 87-69 victory over the CAA leading UNC Wilmington Seahawks this past Thursday. William & Mary was down by a 51-47 margin early in the 2nd half but used a 15-0 run and an 8-0 run take an 80-64 lead late and get the big conference win. William & Mary was outstanding on the offensive end as they shot 49.1% from the field and 52.6% (10-19) from beyond the arc. The Tribe held the Seahawks to 40.0% shooting from the field and outrebounded UNC Wilmington by a 36-27 margin. Leading the way for William & Mary was Daniel Dixon who had 19 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and a block. On the season, the Tribe have been led by Omar Prewitt (17.6 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.7 apg), Daniel Dixon (13.7 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 2.1 apg), and Terry Tarpey (11.0 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 2.4 apg, 2.1 spg). Offensively, William & Mary is averaging 78.0 ppg on 48.5% shooting from the field and 38.0% shooting from beyond the arc. The Tribe average 8.1 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.56. Defensively, William & Mary is allowing their opponents to average 71.6 ppg on 42.0% shooting. The Tribe have a rebound margin of 2.6 and average 4.7 blocks per game.
The Dragons are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 Saturday games however, just 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Tribe are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 home games and 11-3 ATS in their last 14 games overall.
Drexel has a decent chance to pick up a win against Elon however, couldn’t pull out the victory and continue to struggle on both sides of the ball as they rank 337th in FG % and 309th in defensive FG%. William & Mary picked up a huge road win to show they can beat the best in the CAA and have one of the most dangerous offensives in the CAA as they 19th in the country in FG% and 40th in 3P FG%. Drexel is just 1-12 on the road this season and as the Dragons average just 58.0 ppg on the road while the William & Mary averages 85.0 ppg at home, I’m going to go with the Tribe to cover this large home spread.
