The Creighton Bluejays maintain their position with a win versus the Marquette Golden Eagles.
Unless the Marquette Golden Eagles win the Big East tournament my feelings are an NIT bid might be where the land. The Golden Eagles have won two of three after a 73-60 victory at DePaul as a 4.5 point road favorite. The Blue Demons fell behind by eleven at the half and never recovered. The better shooting team won this with Marquette firing away at 51% with the Blue Demons hitting at 42% for a difference of five baskets. Heanif Cheatham was top scorer for the Golden Eagles with 20 points and five yanks on 5-7 with Luke Fischer tossing in 16 points on8-13. Henry Ellenson added 14 points and nine rebounds while Jajuan Johnson chipped in with ten points and five assists.

The Creighton Bluejays are 4thin the Big East and control their own fate meaning if they win nobody can boot them from their position. The high powered Bluejays can rack up the points but not enough in an 83-58 loss at Villanova Saturday that ended a three game winning streak. The eleven point underdog Bluejays were down 13 at the break with their struggles carrying over to the second half. The Wildcats simply had too much firepower at 48% with a 16-29 effort on threes with Creighton unable to stay alive on 40% accuracy. Mo Watson Jr. was the Bluejays lone double digit scorer with 16 points and five helpers. The offense had balance with five players scoring between 5-7 points but not enough punch.
Marquette are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 Wednesday games and are 18-38-1 ATS in their last 57 vs. Big East. Creighton are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 Wednesday games and are 14-5 ATS in their last 19 home games while going 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 vs. Big East. I’m going with the good home team and nothing more…
