The Michigan Wolverines look for a win versus the Northeastern Wildcats to log win number 20.
The Northwestern Wildcats have a solid record but have stumbled in conference play. The Wildcats have dropped seven of ten after a 71-61 defeat at Purdue as an 11.5 point underdog. The Wildcats fell behind by eight at the break and were never able to cut in to the deficit. The defense played well with the Boilermakers held to 38% but a 21-5 advantage at the stripe overcoming the Wildcats nearly 45% marksmanship. Northwestern received 16 points from Tre Demps on 7-13 in 40 minutes with Bryant McIntosh adding 14 points and five yanks. Alex Olah scored 12 points with Aaron Falzon chipped in with seven while four others combined for 12 points.

The Michigan Wolverines are not going to win the Big Ten unless they can somehow win the conference playoffs but will a 20 win season be enough to get an invite to the Big Dance? The Wolverines have lost four of six after a tough 86-82 loss at #6 Maryland Sunday as a 9.5 point underdog. The Terps connected at 54% with Michigan hitting at 47% with eleven more looks at the basket but a 17-5 deficit at the foul line made the difference. Mark Donnal kept the Wolverines in the game with a contest high 25 points and five yanks on 10-13 with Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman adding 16 points and nine helpers. Derrick Walker Jr. scored 14 points with six pulls and five assists while Zak Irvin and Duncan Robinson combined for 21 points with Robinson logging nine rebounds.
Northwestern are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 Wednesday games. The over is 22-8 in Michigan last 30 overall and is 19-7 in their last 26 vs. Big Ten. If you go by performance against common opponents then perhaps Northwestern has a slight edge but the number looks about right so no edge to exploit for me…
