The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos look to stay hot when they visit the CS Northridge Matadors Thursday night.

The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos are hot and need to stay that way in order to hold on to 4th in the Big West. The suddenly hot Gauchos have won four in a row after downing UC Davis 62-55 as an eleven point home favorite. UCSB led by eleven heading to the locker room before going in to cruise control over the final 20 minutes. The Aggies shot the ball better at 39%-33% but it was the Gauchos 18-8 edge at the stripe that was a difference maker. Gabe Vincent tossed in a game high 21 points on 7-17 with Eric Childress adding eleven points and five yanks. Mitch Brewe and Michael Bryson combined for 17 points with Bryson snagging seven rebounds.

CS Northridge Matadors vs. Santa Barbara Gauchos - 2/25/16 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The CS Northridge Matadors appear to be heading for a middle of the pack finish in the Big West which means they are jockeying for position for the conference postseason. CSN had lost consecutive contests before knocking off Cal Poly 75-71 in overtime as a six point road dog on Saturday. Both teams hit shots in the 38%-39% range a 21-12 advantage at the foul line making the difference. The balanced Matadors received 18 points from Jerron Wilbut with Aaron Parks adding 15npoints and seven rebounds. Kendall Smith tossed in 12 points while Michael Warren and Taverion Dawson combined for 18 points with eight boards between them.

The under is 6-2-1 in CS Northridge last 9 overall and is  6-2-1 in their last 9 vs. Big West. The road team is 19-7 ATS in the last 26 meetings. The Gauchos are fighting for a top four spot in the conference so hopefully that translates in to some urgency…
