The Green Bay Phoenix won their 3rd straight game and improved to 18-11 (10-6 Horizon) on the season after defeating the Cleveland State Vikings, 78-61, this past Monday. Green Bay was down by a 38-36 margin at halftime but used a 15-4 run early in the 2nd half take the lead and extending this lead to as many as 20 points in the victory. Green Bay shot 50.9% from the field and won the turnover battle by an 18-10 margin. The Phoenix held the Vikings to 38.6% shooting from the field and outrebounded Cleveland State by a 37-31 margin. Leading the way for Green Bay was Jordan Fouse who had a double-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks, and an assist. On the season, the Phoenix have been led by Carrington Love (18.5 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 3.5 apg), Charles Cooper (13.4 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 1.4 apg, 1.1 spg), and Jordan Fouse (12.0 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 3.4 apg, 2.2 spg, 1.4 bpg). The Phoenix have a rebound margin of -1.8 and a turnover margin of 4.9.
The Flames are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win. The Phoenix are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 home games and 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall.
UIC has had a long season but has been playing their best basketball of the season as of late and was even able to get a nice home win against the Wright State Raiders due to the strong play of Dikembe Dixson and Tai Odiase. Green Bay has keep the tempo at a fast pace this season which has helped them have one of the best scoring offenses in the country and at the same time, one of the worse scoring defenses. UIC has yet to win a game on the road this season and although their defense will have trouble slowing down the Phoenix offense, the Flames have only lost by 16+ points in 2 of their last 14 games and I just think the Flames are playing well enough to keep it within this large number. Take UIC and the points.
