The Butler Bulldogs will be looking to rediscover their winning ways at Georgetown after losing two of three. It’s hard for me to associate the Georgetown Hoyas with the bottom half of the Big East but that’s where they are with an overall 14-14 record. The past several weeks have not been kind with the Hoyas dropping seven of ten capped off by an 88-70 defeat versus visiting Xavier as a 2.5 point underdog. A 53-37 second half run broke open a close contest with the Musketeers firing away at nearly 55%and 19 more makes at the stripe. That was too much for the 41% shooting Hoyas despite totaling nine more looks at the basket and seven more makes from distance. Georgetown received 18 points and seven assists from D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera with Isaac Copeland adding 13 points and five yanks. LJ Peak tossed in 12 points while Reggie Cameron netted nine.
The under is 16-6-1 in Butler last 23 vs. Big East and the under is 9-4 in Butler last 13 overall. The over is 7-2 in Georgetown last 9 vs. Big East and the Hoyas are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games overall while the over is 6-2 in their last 8 overall. These teams are in a four way tie for 5th and one game out of 4th so I’ll take a chance with the team that is struggling less…
